so that do you think of the 5 door model? was it a good or bad change??

l like it. l just bought a 2008 WRX yesterday and it is the 5 door. Lot is of room and l think it looks good. Only downside is cant do a traditional spoiler but there is alot of things you can still do. l am gonna use the hell out of my bike rack and l got thing net storage thing in the back and l fit 590$ worth of grocerys in the back with no problems (only put the eggs and my on-the-way-home munchies up front with me) :D

thats the best car & driver stated it as the fastest ST l ever tested l personally think its better especially the 09' model was better than the 08' cause they fixed a suspension problem l love it its really fckin sexy as a hatchback considering its gonna be better in cornering but overall its nice wayyyyyyyyyy better than the Evo X which will have a hard time fitting in because it no longer bares the 4G63 & the body style but the STi im saving up for one =] asfor the body for those who dont like it the reason why it looks like that is to enhance its performance =]

It is a good step foreward, & kind of a testament to Subaru is dedication to performance. The reason they offer it in a hatchback now is largely due to them wanting to shorten the overall length of the vehicle for competition in WRC. The result is a very quick & nimble car with better weight balance/transfer & tighter turning radius than the previous STI's.

Unfortunately for many (myself included) it seems all the time was spent on R&D for mechanics & performance (which is where it matters do not get me wrong), but l wish they would have taken more time on the asthetics to make it a more unique looking hatch that stands out (or still offer the sedan for that matter). There really is no denying it, when the average person sees one it looks like a focus with a hood & wide fenders..
