im buyin a subaru (02) impreza wrx this weekend. l want 2 know if its worth it. it has 31k miles on it.

p.s. blue book value for a stock 2002 wrx is 14,800. l ran a carfax vehicle history report and everything checked out ok. Interior looks like it just rolled off the factory line. let me know if you need anymore information.

l would say yes! But unfortunatley, a lot of WRX is and similar cars such as evo is vl commodores, and the like are thrashed beyond reason. You would have to worry about a damaged 'box, as is often the case with WRX impreza's. They have a notoriously fragile transmission. Jst check with the owner, and maybe get it serviced and have a professional check it out, make sure its all good.

the car is worth over $17,000 easily in my opinion with all the upgrades mentioned. Make sure the car does not have a salvage title. l do not know if carfax reports that. Ask if it is okay to let a mechanic check it out. Does it have any warning lights on the dash? If not this sounds like a super deal. Why is the seller selling it? What is the type of vehicle the seller is using now that he or she is selling this car? The miles sound a little low for this vehicle year & model. Most people put a ton of miles on this vehicle. Any vehicle with only 31k that is about 6 years old very rare & highly suspiciously in my opinion. That means the driver only drives about 5k a year. If the carfax shows the mileage being consistent then it is probably true & the driver just did not drive much. It is just unusually for a driver to spend that many upgrades & not race the hell out of it. What r other sellers selling similar cars for & go from there. If this is way cheaper than all the other sellers prices l would probably avoid the sale.

l have seen them go for much less stock but for what it has on it & the low mileage, I'd say it is not bad. l just find it odd that it has so much done to it but only a cat back for power. Especially with an upgraded clutch. l can not help to think it had a lot more done to the motor & was removed so l would be worried about how it was driven. The 02 is had the weakest tranny of them all & l would also worry about the kind of shock the gears have been put through with that upgraded clutch. l would not buy this car just for those reasons but u have more info than l do so if u r sure of how it was treated & maintained & r comfortable with it, the price is okay.

l think you could find a way better deal, l bought my 04 for 14,000 40,000 miles plus you dont want to buy a car thats been modded especially the engine

No it is no worth it. A car with those modifications is guaranteed to have been driven very hard (clutch replacement in 32k miles is ridiculous. the previous owner drove it like he stole it at all times). Also, it probably had engine modifications that were removed & sold separately.

Personally, l would stay away from that car. The WRX is a tough car but the mods & the early clutch replacement suggests the previous owner really wailed on the car. He ahd the fun & YOU will be the one left holding the repair bill.

Buy a stock car with no evidence of modifications.

it is modded so the price should go down. l promise you he beat it up a bit.
