depends on the model. if its an unwanted car like a manual transmission 2.5RS impreza you can negotiate a lot. If it is a desirable car like a new STi then you've got a good deal if you get it for MSRP

as others have said, you can try other levers such as your trade in and interest rate to get yourself a good deal even if price is fixed.

Anyone who actually thinks the dealer actually pays invoice for their cars is crazy. With kick backs from the manufacturer & from banks the customer finances through, They can sell the car for way under invoice & still make a good amount. l bought my 06 new for 20,888. The sticker was just over 26,000 so that is a good 2000 under invoice. You may not get that because no two people will pay the same amount for a car but if you're patient & willing to play the game, u can do pretty good. It depends on how badly the dealer needs the sale. They have had record sales since the release of the new Impreza so that may be a tough model to get a good deal on. The Forester just came out so they may give u a good deal to get some out there to be seen by people. Just be ready to walk & make the dealer contact u several times with a better offer.
