My cruise control on my Subaru Forester has not been working for the last few months. Usually when it engages, it makes a click sound and the light on the button will come on. Now, when l try to turn it on, there is no click sound or light on. What could be the problem, and how might it be fixed?

It could be just electrical, is any thing else not working in your car? The first thing l would do is check any fuses in your fuse box that could control this. After that if every thing is ok l would have a mechanic check it out do to the problem being mostly over your head. Most likely it wont be anything real expensive and if it is you can always just go without cruise.

First check your fuses.

The click sound you hear is a relay. Find the relay and see if it needs replaced. It sounds like the power is being cut off somewhere in the relay or before it. You just need to start tracing backwards from there.
