It does not have to be an 03. It can be any from 02-05.

Do not know about insurance. A few calls will tell you that.
As far as repairs, it should not need any, especially if you make sure you buy a low mileage one, less than 50,000. Subarus are renown for reliability..

Depends on your age, sex and driving record but there will be plenty of sites to get online quotes not sure what country youre in but try a few then ring the one with the best prices and haggle a bit.
Try to check the log books and make sure the service history is up to date and it will be a great car.

l bought my 2002 WRX and instantly got overwhelmed with the amount my insurance jumped. l am younger though, and my record is not so clean. It seems the insurance company finds a way to get you for the turbo, the hp, and the awd. But yes, it all depends on you and your history as well. As for reliability; l have never been more pleased. My only ''repair'' has been my thermostat, which went over a year ago at around 60,000. l love the Subarus!

l owned a stock '02 WRX wagon for 27 months & 44000 miles as the 2nd owner. it was extremely reliable (only repairs were clutch, & CV boot). however, l found maintenance costs to be quite high. l changed gear oil & diff oil every 15,000 miles, oil every 3750 miles, changed brake pads, rotors & tires about once per year (i tracked the car & drove it hard in general).

over the time l owned it, it cost me around $240/month in maintenance for all of the things l mentioned above. if l did not track the car, the car would have been around $140/month in maintenance (keep in mind these were average costs.. for example, l paid $1000 for a new clutch & then $0 for the next 3 months)

insurance was not any more expensive than other cars. but i'm 27 with a flawless driving record

shop for insurance first, & take ur time to find a stock car with full maintenance records.
