l got a 95 Impreza 2dr coupe, bad-ass little car, milage is decent on the whole motor and drivetrain. But the stock L powerplant pushin only 110hp and tq just aint cutting it. Looking at swaps, l wanna pull the hat trick and drop a Nissan SR20det Redtop under the hood, not worried about smog or cops cause it will be a track car, but does anyone know if anyone is tried it before or where l can get info on it? 1. It is not a bad*** car. It is just an *** car.
2. You will end up spending tons of money or lots of time to swap the SR20det engine in there. Ultimately, it wo not be worth it.

Anything u dream up can be done with enough time & money. If u can find a front clip with the ecu & engine harness by all means go for it. The subie transmission is huge & could accept a rwd nissan trans with custom mounts & driveshafts. Too much boost will shred the rear differential, which is built to do half the work. Its less hassle to drop an sti engine in, but u still need to swap wiring harness'. Check impreza forums, theres a ton of crazy swaps out there.

For what its worth, if u want a rwd subaru the center diff on a manual can be welded up & the front shafts removed to make it factory rear drive.
