2002 Subaru WRX (EJ20) turbo motor conversion

Kennedy Engineered Products makes one, but I'd rather see u join the subaruvanagon list on as they r there stricly for folks putting subies in Vanagons. l will do it myself when l wear out the rebuild on my Vanagon motor.

You need to shorten the oil pan & modify the subie wiring harness which is no small task, but all this is covered in the list archives for the subie list. l wo not do the turbo, but good luck. With some additional mods, the SVX 6 cylinder will fit in there too.

l agree with the last answer. Remember a turbo engine needs a lot of air- even if it is already liquid cooled & has an intercooler. By design, this could cause problems on the Vanagon. l know Porsches have turbo engines in the back but because of their designs they never had the same problems as the Van/Vanagons. Please consider the N/A EJ20 or better yet, the EJ25. That way u wo not be back here at another time complaining about how lousy Subie engines are. They r not lousy but any turbo is a risk to install in the engine bay of a Vanagon.
