l have been wondering this because i've allways wanted a subaru wrx for my first car but they all are manual.Unfortanatley l have manuals its too much wark when you drive the car.

Myself have owned & own two Skyline auto is & driven A highly tuned Subaru & a Mitsubishi gto auto & found then harder to drive them manuals due to the lack of gears to use whilst braking & the unexpected gear changes whilst going around a corner & also slow driving in traffic bumper to bumper whilst ur car wants to release some power & shoot off often close to the car in front of u going slow.
Some people will say auto is r not real cars etc but l can see some small logic in a small engined car but in a sporty car its a total different experience.

first off, not a great first car. a whole lot of power is generally not a good thing for a novice to learn on, it is kind of trying to learn to fly in an F-15. l know the wrx is awesome & fast & can corner like a champ but try an old impreza & buy a wrx after u understand awd a bit better & that power is something u have to learn to control

second, l dont think the wrx comes in auto because it would take a very hefty tranny to handle the power that a wrx puts out & frankly autos dont normally cut it at a reasonable price.

third, u do not want a wrx auto. if u think an auto is easier u wont be driving a wrx like it should be driven & if that is the case the wrx is over kill to begin with

They do make automatics, but more are manual due to it being an enthusiasts car. You could learn. It is a necessary skill and more fun to drive. l miss my 5 speed talon tsi.

The auto wrx is are detuned slightly and lose a bit more power in drivetrain losses. Nothing wrong with subaru slushboxes otherwise. The reason the svx only came in automatic is because subi didnt have a manual that could handle the torque until the sti six speed rolled in.

you do not want an automatic WRX. it nears the shorter gearing of the 5spd plus the ability to do abusive high rpm AWD launches in order to be fast

2002 and later model is WRX has automatic transmission. However, it is rare that you will see an automatic transmission in a turbo car.

My friend has one is in automatic WRX 2002 in his wagon. l think he paid additional of 1500 for the transmission.
