I will be purchasing a Subaru WRX in the upcoming months and it is completely stock, but l was interested for my first upgrade to install a Blow off Valve, but what I've heard is that it does not do anything unless your running Stage 2 or higher boost, so I am just wondering if this is true or not, or if it will still blow off at stock boost.

an upgraded bov will make your car run rich without the proper tuning. you can also lose some power from running an upgraded bov. also if you do decide to get one make sure its a wrx one so it comes with the flange to properly mount on the intercooler.

It does absolutely nothing good for ur car unless u push 20 lbs of boost. It will in fact make u run rich between shifts & could also give u idle problems. our first upgrades should be suspension. The car handles well stock so improving it will make the car fell awesome. l am assuming u r new to turbocharged cars so l would suggest studying up on sites like I-Club or NASIOC & learn as much as u can before u start modifying & blow ur motor. It happens all the time so l am not exaggerating.

A blow off has no reason to be on a subaru unless you get in the bigger turbos running more boost more than 20psi

u dont have to have stage 2 or anything. if u r looking for power its not the upgrade for u all it does is give the blow off a different sound. wrx recirculates the air so u need to get one that recirculates also u need a certain flange for it to mount to the intercooler. if u want it to blow off to the atmosphere u need to tune the car so that it knows its not getting the air back from the blow off plus it makes louder sound. its not hard to do just follow instructions it comes with it takes just common knowledge.

dont buy a wrx if you dont know what your doing bov for first upgrade real NOOB just whats the reason you want it cause u wanna hear the bov noise...
