There is definitely play and some rust on the joint, looks dried out.I'd like to avoid buying a whole drive shaft, and l heard the Ujoints can be replaced.Any truth to this?Thank you.

Some Ujoints can be repaced. l say this because l went to have one replaced on a Nissan and the factory installed one was not replacedable. Had to change the whole drive shaft. The replacement drive shaft came with a replacable UJoint. Go figure,

Absolutely.. the u-joints on the center driveshafts can be replaced just like any other RWD vehicle.. .. my advice is, if you have the funds, and time.. do all of them.. rather than just one, as the whole shaft has to be removed to do just one.. better to cover all the bases now than worry about it later.. just make sure the replacement joints are greasable.. goes a long way toward longevity..
