l am in the market for a new vehicle and l have been looking and finally found a 02 wrx l know that it is all wheel drive and turbo charged but l was wanting to know if there was any drivers out there and what they thought of the car??

i'd say its an okay choice. first of all, stability, stiffness, good crash tests, great grip, awd, good power, it is all good.

a turbo straight-4 connected to a mediocre tranny with some miles on it may not cut it in tomorrows world, quite a lot of people have the car anyways, and the exterior is not exactly a turn on.

honestly l like ur choice but you should either go with a newer model or a diff. car.

thought everyone knew a subaru does not have a straight 4. That is funny. Anyway ur question asks about ST l is so l am guessing u r not in the US. The Version 7 STi is were a very good car. The motor is pretty stout with potential for lots of power upgrades. l think that was when they started using 6 speeds as well which r near bullet proof. If u r talking about the US version then they r still a great car but nowhere near the Ver. 7 Sit. l had an 02 & loved the thing. Plenty fun to drive & with a set of springs & sway bars, It handled awesome. Just have to learn to drive the AWD without shocking the system. They r known to lose third gear under certain conditions. The 2 litre is not bad but l prefer my 06 with the 2.5 litre. Even with the same turbo it is a huge difference. Anyway good lick & have fun with the car. l think u will like it.

yeh sti great cars dont have to do much mods to it as its already a quick car and l just love the sound of theboxer engine in rexys just music to my ears

good choice. if you can find one that is not modified for a fair price go for it.

i use my '02 wrx wagon as my daily driver, and also for lapping events at the local circuit. it is stone reliable, easy to drive fast and is very practical

just make sure the example you buy has been well maintained, not modified, and driven by an experienced person

l love Impreza, turbo or supercharged, as you get to 100 km/h, you will already feel the speed. Used to be the only drift-able vehicle l like until Civic Type-R came out. Now, l am looking forward to drifting a Ferrari. For pure drifting skills, get a manual transmission. You will get the feel, grip and skills then.
