1999 only had 4 bell housing bolts, 2000 and newer have 6. The top and bottom bolts would line up, you could just leave the center ones on the WRX engine out, wo not hurt anything. You will also have to modify one of the starter bolts. The engine mounts should line up.

Iike the guy above said it should work with some minor adjustments. From the early 90's, Subqrus are like Lego's. All fit together pretty easily.
