l have a new subaru impreza (07 ot 08 im not exactly sure) and l am having trouble fiding the aux jack input. the owners manual says its in the armrest compartment , but its not there. there is some kind of input below my air conditioner next to the lighter thing, but its covered by something and l cant seem to open it. any suggestions??

l have a standard 08 Impreza and it does not have an aux jack. It would be in the armrest, but unless you have an upgraded subi (premium package, etc.) then sorry, you will have to upgrade to a stereo that is aux jack-capable.

Is not it that big thing that sticks out at the back that sometimes shoots flames?

On an 07 Impreza, the AUX input jack is at the bottom of the center console, behind the fold down cover next to the lighter, in front of the shifter.. just push in on the top of the cover, release, and it will pop open.. l am not sure about the 08, as I've never actually seen the inside of one yet.in which case, look in the owner is manual.. that should tell you where to find it.
