I own '99 Subaru Forrester and when it drives between 45-50mph, it makes a low hum. What could be causing thi?

u-joint ,, front or rear wheel or axle bearing,,alternator bearing,,planetary gears in the transmission if it is an automatic,,bearing in a standard transmission,,Tires that have not been rotated & are cupped out ! ,,feedback from the radio,,

Hmmmmmm Best guess it does not know the words to the song on the radio. Seriously it could be any or a combo of all the recent ,almost have to be there to to hear it and pin point it. Jim

Sorry to say..need to take it to a professional to sort it out.could be too many things from a tire to a bearing.
