Any comments on subaru R2 and subaru impreza 1.6i sedan?

First, let me point out that the Impreza 1.6i is being discontinued. It is being replaced by an all-new Impreza 1.5R hatchback. The engine in the 1.5R is superior to that in the 1.6i. The 1.5R produces roughly the same peak torque, but at only 3200 RPM instead of 3600 RPM, & its peak power is 12 PS more than the 1.6i. Also, the 1.5R is roomier inside than the outgoing 1.6i. Adults can now sit comfortably in the rear seats.

l would say the choice between the R2 & the Impreza depends on ur needs & lifestyle. If nearly all of ur driving is within a city & u rarely need to transport more than one adult passenger or bulky cargo, then the R2 will clearly offer better value because of its lower purchase price & lower operating costs (i.e. fuel). Otherwise, choose the Impreza.

You r fortunate to have this choice. The R2 is only available in Japan & a handful of Southeast Asia countries.
