The Star Cluster in the Subaru Logo is representative of the Pleiades Star cluster. It was chosen as a logo to represent the 5 companies who came together to form what is now Fuji Heavy Industries in the 1950's. One of the major companies was the Nakajima aircraft company, which made the engines for the Zero bombers (kamikaze planes) during WW2.
