Other than the obvious ie turbo kit and intercooler, what else would l need to change in order to make this addition work correctly? Reasoning behind upgrading standard engine as opposed to just buying a WRX is that l have spent considerable money on my car and am keen to keep it and modify it to my liking.

If you were worried about money you would not have poured it into the car in the first place. Cars depreciate and modified cars depreciate even faster as you do not get your ''mod'' money back once you sell it.

That said research the pistons and compression ratio of the WRX engine and see how it differs with your Impreza engine. You might not be able to run the same amount of boost as a WRX on RX Impreza stock internals.

Even with money in the car, u will still end up losing money vs. buying a WRX. You will have a unique car though. You will probably also need to upgrade you're fuel pump & possibly injectors depending on what kind of turbo u pick. Of course l assume u already know about all the plumbing of oil lines & coolant lines associated with a trubo, & obviously u will need to modify you're exhaust to accpet a turbo. If reliablity is a concern u should really just rebuild the engine with lower compression pistons & head. High compession plus a turbo = a blown engine sooner or later.

you will absolutly destroy a n/a impreza with a turbo, the block and componnents are not designed for boost, your best bet with keeping the car is a motor swap. find a wrecked wrx,TR,sti end do a complete transplant

do your research at nasioc.com
