Yes, You can put a BOV or new BPV on a stock WRX.

The cost really depends on which BOV u get, although l would highly recommend a HKS SSQV, which will run u around $350. Read about this guys problems he had with a lower quality/different design BOV here, & what l said:

Unless u r completely inept, u should be able to install the BOV by yourself, its practically easier than changing a tire.

On a side note, There r a lot of people that will tell u that a BOV will harm ur engine. If u know anything about how motors work, then u will realize this is a false statement. Although a BOV will make ur car run rich for a very short amount of time, this will not harm any of ur engine systems. In modern automobiles the ECU will shut the motor down before anything serious will happen to it. l have never had a problem with a BOV on any one of my WRXs, nor has anyone I've known. My frist WRX had a HKS SSQV BOV for over 110k miles & not a single problem. Now my Stage I l 415BHP STi with a HKS SSQV for over 50k miles & not a single problem.

The BOV is can actually cause problems in the engine if it is not tuned for. The problem is, with the blow by MAF system there is no way to tune for it. There is no real need for one until u r pushing more boost than the stock turbo can handle. They r also commonly known to cause idle issues too. And the guy above has no idea what he is talking about. The stock BPV releases the purged air back into the intake after the maf. The ECU automatically adds fuel because it knows it is getting extra air the MAF did not read when it blows off. If u blow off that air into the atmosphere, the ECU will still add that extra fuel. An extremely rich condition , even momentarily, is enough for a cracked ring land at full boost & full throttle. Do not risk ruining the engine for a mod that gives u zero benefit.
