Ok custom freakz help a girl out. l have a 2008 WRX and it is too quiet for my liking. l was thinking on getting an intake maybe from COG or something, friends suggested a blow out as well. My car is AUTO tranny, so this may matter. Any suggestions? Price is an issue. l just wanna hear the whirr of the turbo more, not a whole custom exhaust. What is a small step l can do now, and save up for better stuff later.

Why would you buy an automatic WRX? Leave it alone. An exhaust is your best bet for improving the sound of the engine though.

awe an auto wrx *sigh* why? anyways you've bought it already, but if you're looking to make the TURBO louder you should remove the snorkus, and replace the uppide and downpipe. If you're looking to make the ngine sound louder, replace the exhaust, remove the catlytic converters. Removing the snorkus is the easiest(and cheapest; free) of these, though im not sure how loud you really can make you're car since it is automatic.

get an aftermarket intake, blow off valve, and exhaust. that should do it.

One thing to keep in mind with intakes; the WRX is have a very touchy Mass Air Flow sensor in the intake. Buy a good name brand which is guaranteed & tested, l would recommend AEM or Injen. These intakes wo not possibly harm ur vehicle. Other cheaper intakes may look the same but they do not have the sensor location & sizing done correctly which could end up leaning ur car out, causing dangerous conditions. You will hear the turbo spooling much more with an intake but the stock air box with the snorkus removed is good for well over 300hp.
A blow off valve will sound nice when u r shifting but that is about it. l got the Turbo XS RFL & it is really loud on the WRX. You would probably love it. A full atmosphere vented blow off valve may cause ur WRX to idle a little goofy here & there but it does not affect performance nor cause any damage. (technical reason being the tumblers in our motors)
Best of luck! Feel free to ask questions.
