Try putting a new battery in the car l have struck this be for. you can jump from another vehicle but still is not enough charge to run all the electrics. Or you could try charging the battery that is in the car for a couple of days.

More than likely it is the battery. Sometimes if a battery is totally dead, it will not work even with a jump start. I've seen that happen many times.

l would try a new battery first, particularly if the one in the car is 3 years old or more.

clogged fuel filter, bad plugs, air filter dirty? check all the simple things that make a engine run.

First off, you've checked the fuses inside the car & in the engine compartment first right? Next, take a voltage meter tool & check to make sure that the battery is putting out over 12.4 volts of power without the engine running or the key in the ignition switch. If the power is less than 12.0 volts, then the battery is shot. Get a new one & remember to put a good coating of dielectric grease onto the new battery terminals & the battery cables after you've cleaned them off with a cleaning tool & some baking soda & hot water. Next, just to be on the safe side, I'd replace the fuel filter & pour a bottle of stuff called ''Star-Tron'' from Napa Automotive into the gas tank. The fuel filter is a round job located on the drivers side of the engine compartment right above & behind the spare tire. E-mail me if you've got any more problems.

Maybe have the immobiliser checked out if there is no mechanical movement at all when he starts the key.

sounds like some botched electrics. My subaru is electronics were fucking up and the mechanic told me l needed to put a paper clip into a wire port. Seemed to work, but dont go trying it in any port, because he also mentioned that you can short the whole ECU and wreck your car
