There is not much available for your car, and given it is age there likely wo not be.

Overall, there is no such thing as a turbo system that is both ''Cheap'' and ''Reliable''.

If you are looking to build your motor and add a turbo kit, l would just swap in a full ST l motor and drivetrain for about the same price because your tranny wil not handle a whole lot more power than you have now. Then you have a much more reliable starting point to add power from there. Whichever drirection you go, you will have one hell of a sleeper so good luck.

engine swap is expensive.

turbo installation will be also very costly, including shop time & if u have to use a generic/universal turbine & custom fabrication of the plumbing/piping count on all in $5000-7000

if forced induction is out of the budget, & if u can build out the engine (bottom end & heads - u have one other option, that is very reasonable price - nitrous kit.
nitrous oxide can provide the same degree of power enhancement as forced induction & it causes NO greater strain or heat generation than does a turbo or supercharger (at equivalent power levels)

Anyway do some research on nitrous, lots of installations around & it is a popular addition & a worthwhile one if the engine is properly prepared.
