SO. from what l understand, the Legacy is engine is the STi boxer engine with a WRX turbo, correct? therefore, could all other mods, not including Forced induction, compatible with the STi be put on the legacy gt? such as CAI's, Exhaust's, FMIC, intakes, etc.

also how about body kits? are there any lip kits for the LGT? links would be great.

almost all USDM subie is have the same EJ25 boxer engine (J-spec is are EJ20) with different properties.the WRX is basically an STi with a smaller turbo and a detuned intake and exhaust.seeing as the legacy and the impreza share the same engine any mod that is compatible with the impreza is compatible with the legacy. hope my amateur knowledge is of some use to you

You have a similar short block to the ST l with less aggressive heads but that is where the similarity ends. Your turbo is bolted directly to the intercooler & the intake manifold has the throttle body in a different position so pretty much all performance mods for the ST l will not fit. As far as maximizing the stock set up, l would look for an up pipe, down pipe, cat back exhaust, intercooler & maybe a turbo inlet & get a professional tune. Power numbers will vary depending on the condition of ur motor, type of dyno, & weather but u should see somewhere in the neighborhood of 60hp increase so that will put u well above an STI. From there, u can upgrade the fuel pump, injectors & bolt on turbo like a 16G or 18G from Deadbolt turbo or one of the AVO units that Rallitek sells. it really depends on ur power goals & budget. If l was you, l would join LegacyGT.com & find a good tuner near u & contact them. They will point u in the right derection after discussing how far u want to go with the car. Realistically, u r looking at over $5000 in parts plus tuning to get to over 350 at the wheels. You can switch to a WRX or ST l intake manifold & intercooler & ur choices increase but that is just another extra cost. Another thing to remember is to upgrade ur suspension & tires. Good tires & tight suspension will out run a car with more power but stock tires & suspension on a track so it is imortant.
