So l wanna buy a WRX becuase l know it has good traction. But recently after watching how they crash it scares me because it looks like people that drive these have little to no control over them while they are swirving.
So my question is, does the wrx have good traction until it looses traction? Is it able to regain traction easily? And finally... what do you think about the kids in these videos that drive the WRX's. It is just that you would exepct more out of a AWD system. Anyhow... im interested in anything you guys have to say.
Here are some examples of the driving accidents that iv picked up:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=x-a-AdLBiG8&feature=related
http://youtube.com/watch?v=fBnfVyj7Ero

l understand that these are underexperianced drivers, but l wanted to know what they are doing wrong that makes the WRX look like its sliding on ice when its losing control. My impression of a AWD system is massive amounts of grip.

awd will give u a decent amount of traction..tires come into play here too.. awd its not a miracle worker. anything taken past the limits is going to fail. and fail harder when an unexperienced driver takes the wheel.

The AWD system does not provide any grip! Your tires do.
What happens is that the AWD makes it possible to distribute the available power throughout the 4 wheels as opposed to a FWD or RWD car which powers only one wheel at a time.
This will give u an impression of great performance but in the end, the AWD system does not give u any extra advantage over other cars under braking or turning.
So it is very easy to push the car past the limits & an inexperienced driver will only realize his mistake when he is lost control.
Knowing to control yourself & when to stop pushing is key, & u only learn that with time.

The guy is above are correct. The AWD is not idiot proof. l drive mine a lot and harder and have never crashed it. It is unfortunate that the older WRX is are getting cheap enough for kids to buy and crash. The main reason why insurance is so high on them. Bottom line is Subaru has one of the best AWD systems on the market. Very fun and easy to control in the snow. Just have to drive with some sense.

yup, l <3 my suby is right. l would like to add that to get max grip & control of a awd car u have to be accelerating if not its just like any other front wheel drive or rear wheel drive vehicle. Example l myself drive a 04 wrx & when im entering the freeway on ramp (big loop) the more l accelerate the more grip l have, to some limit. If l just try to take the on ramp quickly without accelerating l get more tire squeals & less traction/grip/control, get it. You have to know how to drive the all wheel drive & not expect it to do all the work & make miracles happen. Do some more research try nasioc.com

no matter what car, drive system or amount of money available NO CAR CAN be idiot proof.

l have to agree with the others NO CAR IS IDIOT PROOF. Any car can be pushed past its limit & when it occurs bad things happens. This comes from inexperienced drivers pushing a car to its limits & beyond. As regards the WRX l love em. They handle expectionally well & u can not beat AWD for the snow. That being said the AWD does not correlate to increased traction. What does is tires. Take for example racing slicks they have increased traction for drag racing & r super sticky to keep the car firmly planted however if u were to take these tires & put them on a WRX in da rain or use them for high speed turns & stupid stunts u got yourself a bad crash. So tires r what provide the grip to the road.nevertheless the WRX is a great car to own & fun to drive both on & off da track.

The reason that the cars look like they r on ice, is because the drivers suck, that is about all that is to it. AWD will give u alot more traction coming out of a corner than a RWD car will ever give you. AWD cars seem to handle better in slides, etc. because u r driving both the front wheels & the rear wheels. Of course, u must know how to drive too! As for the last one, l have no idea how that happened. Looks like had a little too much oversteer coming out of the corner, & did not react quickly enough to control the drift. But at those speeds there r only a few drivers who r fast enough to act that quickly.
