l have seen a few reviews about people getting water sucked into their engine because of the cold air intake. l am thinking about getting one for my car, so l just wanna make sure before l buy one. Thanks

And why would u do it in the first place?

Assuming u have a turbo car, there is no reason to have a cold air intake.

Cold air is more dense, which means, more compressed. That is good.

Too bad ur turbo already compresses the air as much as it can anyway. So, whether u get hot air, or cold air, it is the same compression.

NO GAIN.

If u have an NA car, at best, u will see a few horsepower. At peak RPM. Good luck driving around at peak RPM all the time, to get the gain. The rest of the time? No gain, sometimes a loss of power.

DON'T buy one, if u have any sense at all.

Research before you buy one. l do not have one on my 04 WRX because they do not help performance that much. Save your money.

Along with what the guys above said, ur car has a cold air intake from the factory. Just get a washable filter or something & leave it be. Most tuners have shown that after market intakes really mess with the air/fuel ratio on the new models too so that is something to worry about. The stock unit has been shown to make just as much power as any other on the stock turbo so leave it be. l would spend the money on a quality set of springs or a short shifter. Much better mods that u will appreciate for the life of the car.
