i'm interested in buying a wrx sti because l think it offers good performance and features for the price, but it has this garish hole-thing on the hood!you will probably laugh at me for calling it a hole-thing, but im just wondering if there is any way of getting over its ugliness.

You would be suprised as to how a body shop could probably apply some inexpensive decales in some key places and around that hole to spiffy it up some what.

Upgrade the turbo and change to a front mount inter cooler and no need for a hood scoop. Swap to a regular Impreza hood and you are happy.

Well, you could go for an older STi. It may not be as fast or as technologically advanced, but the older ones are bit more fun to drive. Otherwise, purchase a body kit and have a auto body shop install it for you.

Oh, and that hole-thing is a hood scoop and on an sti it directs cold air to the intercooler, so it has a good and noble purpose.

Buy other car with similar performance is the easiest solution

All turbo Subarus have a hood scoop for the intercooler. If you do not like it, do not buy it. Do you really need reassurance from strangers? Buy a Pontiac Aztek, that is one fine looking vehicle.

Get the STi, remount the intercooler to the front. But it will cost you a lot of money (2000 or more).

Then get the regular impreza hook. and sell the bonnet (hole-thing) hook on ebay.

You may able to get the carbon fiber hook for the impreza for around 400-1200.
