is the sti quicker, not faster, than the evo

sti is faster in a straight line stock. Evo handkes better stock. If you plan on modifing your car then buy the EVO

the ST l has more hourse power therefore is faster however not quicker. the Evo is lighter and can jump out of corners better making it quicker

they are both very capable cars with similar performance in stock form.

in my opinion (as a WRX owner, and having been in run groups with both cars at the track): the winner in a drag race will be one who is willing to abuse the clutch to launch harder and the winner in a race that involves cornering will be the better driver or the one who is more willing risk crashing by driving at the edge of their abilities

My answer will probably be rubbish for US folk but here in Australia the STi is sold with a lot less HP than the Evo (all in chips & tuning & u can tweak the Rex fairly easily to start matching).

But the simple answer is both go a helluvalot faster than most drivers will ever take them & it will come down to driving skill (as said above). The Sti is a far more civilised car than the Evo, but the thing l like . the STi has another very similar model (the base WRX) below it that is still a better car than 95% of drivers (including me) will ever max out. If the Evo is too much u can buy a Lancer VRX .. :-S
