every sixty thousand miles should work out for you.

check your owner is manual to be sure (the timing belt is very important (you do not want it to break!)

l believe the interval for a timing belt change on a 02 Forester is 105,000 miles.

if your heavy footed every 60k if your easy on the gas than 100k should be fine. just have your belt inspected by a subaru tech. timing belt on the boxer engine is a pita to change.

bite the bullet and try 80k miles

Inspect every 30000 and replace every 60000 (if not sooner per inspection)
