Would l notice a difference in driving if l changed my timing belt and water pump?

If nothing is wrong with them, no you wo not feel any difference

The water pump helps with the cooling of your engine while it is running and your timing belt keeps the valves opening at the right time. If your timing is off you will ruin your engine and bend your valves. Changing it should help improve performance as long as it is done right.

If ur car is overheating then u might need to change ur water pump. If the pump is making a bunch of noise, the bearings might be worn out in it too.

The timing belt just keeps ur overhead cam in time with the crankshaft - u should replace it at the intervals recommended by the manufacturer - especially if ur engine is considered an 'interference' engine - meaning that if it jumps time the valves will hit the pistons.

You wo not notice any difference in performance with either component though.

For performance, check ur plugs, plug wires, air filter, run some fuel injector cleaner through ur gas, & replace the fuel filter.

Other performance related issues include - fuel pump failing or reduced compression (due to piston rings being worn out).

Question is vague.
Timing belt makes sure ur valves r open or closed when ur pistons r up or down. If ur timing is off because ur belt jumped u may have anything from a slight miss, higher temps, to bent valves & need a new motor. (you would know)

Water pump is probably driven by ur timing belt, & keeps coolant circulating through ur engine block to keep ur motor cool. A bad water-pump may leak, or be so worn that it no longer pumps enough coolant to keep the motor cool.

Unless ur vehicle is overheating, or u r leaking coolant u probably do not need to replace the water pump. The exception is that if it is a long & expensive job to replace & u r already torn down to ur water pump, then people usually opt to get it done to save themselves money down the road.

Timing belts in interference engines (motors where the valves & pistons occupy the same space at different times) should be changed as recommended by the manufacturer. If u fail to do this & one breaks or jumps enough u will be spending thousands.

Hope this helps.
