If i had a stock 2006 Subaru WRX STI what cars on the road would i beat and what cars wouldn't i beat

surely u cant beat Ferrari..

the cars you would be able to beat is basically any typical car out there but if they re stock

but if you go up to a k20 hatchback,RZ Supra,Evo MR,or a ZP l Tc you would prob. get beat.?
because l got a friend with a silver/gray sti and well they are pretty fast but not against those cars l just named.

other than that you are good

They have good bottom end power but not very good top end because of the all wheel drive factor. so they are quick off the line which is a plus.

If you add some mods and/or swap the turbo for one that runs higher psi it can be pretty dangerous. l hear the stock turbos are not very powerful and made sort of cheaply with some plastic components.

Depends on what kind of race your running. If it is drag, then you wont beat a Z06 or Viper. You could take out a S15, an EVO or a lot of Euro trash. On a road or ralley course, you are pretty much untouchable, except maybe an EVO. Then its all about the driver.

The STi isnt designed as a drag car. Its made to be a road course & autocross track car. Its not bad in a straight line, but there r many cars that can do that much better for much cheaper (LS1 f-bodies, GTOs, 5.0 mustangs, etc). The STi is most at home on the racetrack.

On the racetrack its pretty much all up to the driver though.


and LOL about some of the comments on the engine. lots of low end? The things a dog below about 2800 RPM & the turbo spools. Plastic turbo components? Turbos reach temperatures WAY WAY WAY higher than any plastic could stand. They can sit at over 1000 degrees in hard driving.

U would beat the following -

Nissan Sentra Spec V,Honda Civic Si, Toyota Corolla Le, Mitsubishi Lancer GTS, Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder.

Not Beat -

Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, Pontiac GTO, Ford Shelby GT500, Toyota Supra Turbo, Nissan 350Z and 300ZX. Mazda RX-7.

You will beat mostly the subcompact catagory cars in it. l must recommend the Mitsu Evo 10 0-60 4.5 seconds. Real Fast.
