alright so im about to get out of iraq and back to the states in about a month and im thinkin of buying a 2.5i. for what ever reason their website wont load up out here but from the pictures ive seen and the reviews ive read it is a very sweet ride.
my questions are: they dont come stock with turbos but are the internals in the boxer engine the same as a wrx/sti?
if the internals must b changed out, whats an estimate a sports shop might charge me on doing the work?
are there alot of bolt on upgrades (headers, undrive pulley kit, cold air intakes, ext.) available for the 2.5i?
ive heard a rumor that subaru is giving 5grand back to soldiers who have deployed, true?
what does the car do in the 1/4 and 0-60?
does the car have a govner on it?
yup thats bout it, donut for ever can answer the most of my questions :-P

1) No. 2) The blocks r different. An STi sb costs ~1700, WRX sb ~1600. Even if u go the route of forged internals in the 2.5i block, the block itself is different, plus this route costs more, a lot more once u add in everything else. 3) Not really. 4) Possibly. While I've never heard of this from foreign manufacturers, l have heard of it from GM & Ford. 5) 0-60 7.9 sec,1/4 16sec 6) For WRX, 144. For 2.5i, no clue, but probably the same, although l imagine it is drag limited before then. 7) Okay, there was not another one, but if you're going to mod a 2.5i, why not just get a WRX or even STi? A couple grand more, & it is a much better starting platform for power mods..

You may want to consider a Legacy Spec B. l drove one for a few months and wow..what a ride. Already set for racing, but a good day to day car. More room and a little more tame than a WRX sti.

The 2.5i & wrx come with an open deck block(thin cylinder walls) with decent internals, obviously the internals will differ between the ''i'' & wrx. Where the ST l has a semi-closed deck block, thicker walls, & an entirely different head, tranny, suspension, etc.
Do not waste ur money on boosting a 2.5i, no one really ever does it because they block can only handle ~6-8 psi. You're way better off paying the extra money for a wrx. Or if u get an ''i'' without warranty, do a motor swap with an STI(EJ257 USDM).
All of the parts u listed should be on the market, but will give u very minimal power gains. It will just sound louder & suck more gas.
I've never heard of that.
1/4 mile for the ''i''.. Im guessing mid to high 15's. 0-60 no idea.
Yes.
