Probably a problem in the stitch, and it has shorted to the on position. As a temporary fix you can try pulling the flasher unit to calm it down until you get it in to be fixed.

The problem with the hazard lights does not have anything to do with your battery. Probably a coincidence!!
Your hazard light switch is probably the problem. A bad contact makes the switch stick on the on position.

l would do one of two things: l would pop out the switch and see if it stops. go to junkyard and get another. OR l would only drive 20mph and wave people around like somehting was wrong with car . lol

Is it your Hazard or Parking lights? Check the button on top of the steering column.

My '97 Outback does the same thing. l have to hit the hazard button several times to get them off, and then sometimes then the turn signals wo not work, until l hit it a few more times. apparently it sticks and there has actually been a recall on some year models to fix the switch. Check your year, it may be a free fix at the dealership!
