can you help,clutch assembly,assembly was put in subaru,what is involved and how long

1. Depending on what model Subaru u own, in general, all pipes, hoses, wiring looms, belts, radiator, engine mounts, exhaust pipes need to be removed to allow the motor to be separated from the transaxle & possibly lifted up out of the way to do the job.

2. This allows room to remove the clutch assembly from the flywheel, that is, pressure plate & clutch plate.
If the flywheel is in good condition, a new clutch assembly can be re-installed using an alignment tool, which lines up the clutch plate dead centre to the trans axle input shaft, to allow the splines to re-engage when the motor is installed.
Do not forget to replace the thrust race as well which should come with the clutch kit.

3. Go to step 1 & replace all the hoses, belts, wiring connectors etc. then adjust clutch pedal travel to suit the specifications in the manual.

If everything goes alright, this job should be able to be done in about 4 hours, depending on if u do it yourself. A good workshop manual (Haynes is one) will help considerably.
