Is it quick and smooth? l know it is not going to be like The GT w 243 hp. But how fast is the 2.5i w 170 hp?

It will be as competitive as the other 4-cyl engines on the market, such as the ones in Accord, Camry, or Altima. That said, today is 4-cyls are very good and have adequate power for everyday driving. They are downright peppy if you get it with a manual transmission, even.

We had one at our household as a rental when my dads camry was in for service. Nothing too special, slower than the impreza due to it being a heavier car and very uncomfortable ride.

Subarus 2.5 liter engines, even in older legacys and foresters, have been adequate. They have decent torque, are very reliable and sound great. It may only be 170hp but rich torque and a well sorted transmission make it feel great.

l just had one for a test drive and l love it. It feels more refined and l like the fact that there are frames around the windows which really cuts down on the highway wind noise. It has adequate speed and smooth shifting. l have just sold my ''93 DOHC Legacy and l think l am going to lease on of these babies.

l just bought an '08 3 weeks ago, and it seems like the midrange power is where they really shine. Off the line its ok, but once l get to 40ish getting to 100 is really quick and responsive. The car handles great and l got the special edition for just under 20k so its a solid deal.
