Hello,

I've got a 2006 Subaru Legacy that just recently has begun to produce a noticeable squeaking noise from the drivers side front wheel.It is not a ''metallic'' noise like one that is usually associated with breaks, it is rather more of a ''rubber'' sound, explained like ''squeaky rubber''.It only does it only on occasion, not 100% and only when the tire is actually moving.

Any ideas?

Take it to a tire shop & ask them if they can take a look at it for yo. l work at a tire shop & l get people in with noises & vibrations all the time & l find the problem 99% of the time. Take it to a small tire shop not a big brand name place. the smaller family owned people will more likely help u out more rather then just want to sell u some tires. l just work at a small private tire shop & l just couldnt imagin some of the big tire shops around here helping someone out with just a noise problem. To them it would be a waste of there time.

l would need more information to tell what makes the noise, but since l have a 2007 Subaru Legacy, l will try to tell u what l think could be the problem.
The power steering can make that noise when u r driving very slow & turning the steering wheel all the way to the max. This is because u may be forcing the hydraulic pump.
Another typical thing is a loose belt. Check to see if the belts fit loose or it is partially broken. If so, u better change it soon.
