This is most likely used to convert the transmission into manual. Unless you know how to drive a stick, l would not press it! Not sure, just an idea!

It allows you to shift the car through the gears manually, or to put it into a specific gear and have it stay there (winter driving, mud, etc.). It does not cause any problems if you use it other than the inconvenience of you being in charge of when the car shifts gears.
It is still an automatic transmission, you just control the shift points.

its the button for 5th gear its not to choose a gear cause l have the same thing and l can change gear anytime without it on its like an overdrive
