How many mpg does it get, and how many gallons does it hold?

l do not know anything about cars or where to look.

I'd guess it gets good mileage (little engine, not too heavy). Somewhere around 30 MPG, which is the same rating for the current model. The current model holds about 16 gallons of gas, which would give you a range of approximately 480 miles on the highway. l know these are not exact, but l bet they are very close to the 97 model stats.

Since the Forester first came out in 1998 l am not sure what the 1997 model is like. The '98 has a 2.5 lire DOHC engine That had problems with it. If you are looking at a forester look at the 1999 and up they had a SOHC 2.5. They should get about 31 mpg and hold about 15 gallons.

To start out, they did not make a 97 Forester. If they did, (like they did in Japan) it would get about 25mpg highway and it holds 14.3 gallons.
