What is Subaru known for

the only thing l can think of they was the first car to ever have 4 wheel drive in a car version,that is all l can think of other than being reliable,good luck.

Fun to drive cars that feature AWD and quirky looks. and everybody who has ever owned a Subaru knows there is just that little something about them that you can not quite put your finger on that makes them great.

They are known for being a decent car with four wheel drive that competes in the family car market (toyota honda ford VW ect.) they were not the first company to put 4 wheel drive in cars that award goes to Spyker they are all wheel drive now and they are the only company that awd is standard in (Audi does make non quattro front track cars).

Safety, Reliability, Durability, cars, air planes, buses. One of the best AWD systems in the world.

-Strong reliability and longevity (but high cost of parts)

-Fantastic steering and suspension, giving balanced ride and handling
-Success in rallies
-Boxer engines (guttural-sounding but pleasing)

-Non-mainstream or niche models (Brat, Baja, SVX and the original Outback to some extent)

Subarus r known for being really reliable- well the ones built in japan (i know people with subarus that have 340,000 miles & still running strong) being japan built is a plus for me since l got tired of these american built cars falling apart after 3-5 years, being that awesome luxury sports car, great rally cars, great aftermarket, all wheel drive (their automatic awd is the most complex to this day as l know of.), their impreza is & impreza sti's. awesome cars, & great design. can not go wrong with a japanese built subaru

Subies are known for their AWD and great rally cars. If you are planning on puchasing one, l would advise staying away from the 99-00 Foresters, l heard that they have tranny and/or head gasket problems. l do not think it is coincidence either that my 99 Forester has had both of those problems. Good luck and have someone who knows about cars help you out before you make you final decision.

All Wheel drive. Also, Subaru has a reputation for good reliability, great rally racing heritage, economy, and quirkyness. The Impreza WRX has helped tremendously with putting Subaru much more in the mainstream in the United States. While they still may be a niche automaker, their appeal is broadening and their cars are typically fun performers at a great performance/cost value.

AWD. Comes standard in all models. Also, they run for a very long time. l just traded in my Legacy with 146,000 miles, and l know it has plenty more left.
