which is better a subaru wrx sti or a mazda speed 3

It is all personal preference, like personally l would go with the ST l because the Turbo, awd, & the layout of the cockpit is better to me, however there r people who prefer the mazda! But lets look at the numbers, the numbers r the 2006 numbers, however the numbers r probably the same for 2007!

STI:
300 hp
300 ft lbs of torque

Mazda 3 (this is actually the Grand touring S):
160 hp
??? ft lbs of torque

So that is what l know, so personally l would choose the STI!!!

l do not see in what way the Mazda 3 can match the sti .. The sti is definitely a better choice in terms of power and handling.

ST l all the way. It is roomier, sits 4 real adults, has better reliability, & it can still outrun & outhandle most sports cars costing twice as much.

That being said, u might get better fuel economy & a quieter engine in a Mazdaspeed3, at the expense of spotty reliability, somewhat cramped space, & an irritating built-in-the-console radio (no chance of being able to replace it with an aftermarket unit).

You should look into a leftover 06 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo. There r plenty out there going for $28-30k.

Check on insurance for both, though, because it can be steep. Good luck!

l can not belive these cars r even being compaired lol. on a serious note the sti alllllll dayyyyyyyy. the 3 is front wheel drive.turbo..if the roads wet, will u have traction...nope. sti is one of the safest cars, very well built, unique, once u buy it ur automatically in a family. mazda none of the above. plus girls actually like the wrx & the sti (you would not think huh) for it is bada**ness not the girlie appeal of the 3. l could go on for days so l will stop now hehe. oh, p.s be careful with evos (check the tsb) l had nothing but problems with my tranny & turbo. so l went for the sti & since then l regretted even buying the evo. it works for some but not alot.

Subaru WRX sTi because it has better performance.

why are you choosing between a WRX and a Mazda 3 the mazda 3 has some enginge upgrades but not as much as the WRX beacuse it is made for the rally (WRC) and to keep up with the Mistubishi Evolution but the new Mazda 3 MPS has a turbo in it but l think l still would not keep up because the engine does not come from porche.
