l recently bought a used 2005 Subaru Legacy 2.5i from a dealer, and it did not come with the keyless entry FOB.It is my understanding that keyless entry is standard on my car.So, if this is the case how do l get a new one from the manufacturer?l do not wanna pay $200 for a new system only to find out all l needed was a $40 part from the Subaru.

Seems obvious that you go to your subaru dealer, they will order a new one for you after they verify that you own the car (bring your vin number and title if you have it).

You can get a new one at the dealer. They can program the car to recognize the new keyless system or u can read in ur manual to find out how to do it yourself.

If the part (the fob) costs too much for u at Subaru, l see 29 hits for ''subaru legacy keyless'' on eBay. The factory OEM ones that l checked seem to be used, but ''excellent'' condition. There r many with a Buy-It-Now price of $12-20 & about $5-6 shipping. There is a seller there called ''midwestkeyless'' who has been a member since 2-24-04 & he has 12,945 positive feedback votes & only 11 negative. There is a seller called ''autokeystore'' who provides an 800 number for programming support.
