Please help me with this, l need a replacement small block for a 2004 wrx... Production date is, 9-13-03... Also if there is anyone who knows where a long block is for this? l would rather have a small block though!
l recently bid on one from ebay, l obviously lost... The price got a little high, so l didnt get it! l have found a ej205 and a ej207 brand new for $1599 each... Which one would you buy, knowing l just want the car back to normal... No need for more horse power, it has enough as it is....

depending on your location, xx tuning in CT, ispeed in CA, and godspeed in MI.

clubwrx.net is also a great resource for information like this.

good luck!

Call around to places like gruppe-s & LIC motorsports. Gruppe-S imports containers all the time, & a JDM shortblock should not be too pricey. They're both also r known for doing conversions so may have 2.0l shortblocks in stock. You can also give GST a call & see if they have any laying around. Last l heard mike had one of his previous built shortblocks going for pretty cheap(he decided on a bigger block). They will all ship if u need it.

I-speed might have some shortblocks, but l am sure they will try & talk u into a quirt block(crawford) http://i-speed.us/

oh & actually Jaed, the USDM 2004 wrx came with a EJ205 open deck. The only EJ22Ts were from turbo legacys, open deck, very low compression. My04 JDM STi came with EJ207 semi closed deck.

The 2004 WRX came with an EJ22T. They are not hard to find(check ebay). But they are pricey. While you are at it, if you plan to keep the car then put in an EJ25 series. It will be well worth the money.

If you are having problems with that particular engine and it comes time to fix it or swap it out. Then definitely swap it out and get the 2.5. That is the only problem that l have with my WRX is that l wish l would of bought the STI. It has to 2.5 in there and would be much faster. All of the 2.0 stuff fits right on the 2.5 and it would be a fun project.
