Only for experts in carsI'd like to know about best and worst marks, like Daewoo, Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Subaru, Hyundai, Kia, Geo Metro, MItsubishi, Ford, etc, characteristics, comments, opiniosn, advices, tips, talk about the repairs, etc

Everyone has there own opinion. Mine comes from working at a Honda dealership for 5 years 1of on all makes & models of used cars. Honda is very dependable ''it is what l drive Toyota, Nissan & Subaru r also very good cars l recommend any of these. l do not recommend Daewoo ''they went out of business for a reason''
Hyundai is the same as KIA (literally they r made in the same factory) they have several problems '' l have worked on all of these l know''. As far as American cars(Ford,Chevy,and Dodge) they r in my opinion not as reliable as the first three l mentioned but r better than KIA,Hynda,and daewoo.
l know people with Honda, Nissan, Toyota, & Subaru with over 200,000 .miles on them.

Well for quality most Japanese manufacturers are on top.
BEST: Toyota, Subaru, Honda
Better: Nissan, GM
Good: Hyundai, Mitsubishi
Not good: Ford, Kia, Daewoo

--Japanese cars r still generally the most reliable--I'd place Toyota, Honda & Subaru at the top. Some of Nissan is models r very good, but some of their SUVs & vans r unreliable. Mitsubishi models seem to be quite reliable as well. Many (but not all) Japanese cars r very good overall performers.

l might just add a bit more about Subaru, since l drive one-- Subaru reliabilty is quite consistent across the entire line-up & the AWD system is bulletproof, but they have high repair costs when something does go wrong. I've found that access for the minor stuff (headlight bulbs, latch mechanisms, etc) is easy.

--Many Hyundai & Kia models r based off the same platforms, so they r very similar in most respects. While they still r not the most reliable, they've made enormous gains over the last 10 years (this applies to their overall performance in general as well).

--For North American cars, the big three have some good cars & some bad ones. Some of Ford is newer models seem to be doing well, but traditionally North-American cars r troublesome in their first year. North American vans & SUVs seem to have more problems than their cars--newer GM minivans come to mind. Some of the older designs--GM is midsized cars, for instance--do well. In terms of overall performce, many North American models rank midpack, again with some very good cars & some poor performers.

--European cars have become known for being excellent cars. except in reliability. From what I've heard, many European makes r suffering from electrical problems--notably Volkswagen & Mercedes-Benz. While some of these problems may have been ironed out, u will find numerous reports of problems with some European makes. Some models r fairly reliable, but few r near the top.

l am basing my views off the various reliability surveys I've come across as well as a number of peoples' experiences, & it is quite possible to have no problems in a car with a bad reputation (and vice-versa). Hope this helps!
