Well l live in NY, and im 17 and I've had my license for a couple of months now.And I am thinking of a buy a WRX about June of next year.And was just wondering if anyone has a WRX and if its really expensive insurance or not.l mean yeah its a sports car and im a young driver so im expecting it to be high.But if its too high l might buy a different car instead

l do not live in NY, nor do l know your financial situation -- l will say that the 17 year old in my house cannot afford the insurance on the 2003 WRX. Yes, your age and that car make for a pricey match.

Alright, im going to give you a straight number here. Im 19 years old with a clean record, l drive an 04 wrx, l pay $370 a month for my car, its high but not as high as a two door sports car like a 350Z or a S2000..by the way the subaru wrx is not a sports car..its a 4 door family sedan lol

l pay $260 a month for my WRX. And l got high risk cause l was a Hooligan back in 03. Does not make sense. But it should go down a little next year.

l am in Australia so accurate dollar figures will be impossible. But insurance works the same in the States. It is all about risk.

Honestly - buy another car! If you're seventeen u will pay through the nose! The 2.5 Impreza is still a superb car & plenty powerful for a first or second car. You will get good rates on that because it is a safe car.

Try ringing around & getting quotes but l think they will scare you! l am 47 & have a top rating insurance bonus & it is still scary.
