My all-wheel drive Subaru shutters and jerks when I'm parking or making U-turn.

It is a Subaru '91 Legacy.l know it has to do with the all-wheel drive and the fact that the inside wheels are turning slower than the outside wheels.
But:
1) Is there anything l can do to get it to stop?
2) Is it really hurting anything, or just part of owning an all-wheel drive vehicle?

Take it in and get it checked, sound like your center differential is malfunctioning.

It is not the AWD. l have two Subarus with AWD and l have never had that happen. Probably center differential like the guy said.

Have owned 5 subarus and the only time they did that was when the CV joints were worn out, get both joints in front inspected real soon before the bearings fall out.

Every 4WD truck iv'e driven shutters while turning, but not any of my subarus.
