nope.

l tried an outback sport impreza & l thought it was a good car. It will be very reliable & great in the snow. l recommend purchasing an outback with the 2.5L motor, instead of the 2.2L motor that the older models came with. The extra power is great for driving up hills in a fully loaded car.

l currently own a WRX wagon, which is similar to the outback in many ways & here r the things l like: reliability, AWD for winter, cargo space of the wagon (compared to a sedan)

here r the things l do not like: interior is fine but not as upscale as some other small cars like the mazda3, not much soundproofing

If u know how to drive a manual transmission l strongly recommend u try an Impreza WRX wagon before u buy the outback. The extra power in the WRX might make u think twice about the outback!

l will likely get an STi as my next car. l am a big fan of how turbocharged subarus drive

l have owned my 2002 Outback Sport Impreza for more than 2 years now & l am very satisfied with it. For my wife & I, its our road car - what we take on long trips. Its the car we go to the mountains & when its raining outside. Its versatile, ideal for my lifestyle & reliable. In fact, my only problem was a bad battery (a new battery fixed the problem) & fortunately nothing mechanical with the car. l maintain this car regularly so that also helps with the reliability.

This is definitely a fun car to drive, very agile, quick & responsive & with all-wheel-drive u do feel more security when the roads r wet particularly on a hard turn. The thing to keep in mind with an AWD vehicle is the fact that the gas mileage is not as good as 2WD car of the same size. In addition, when it is time to replace the tires u need to replace all four at the same time - so be sure to rotate ur tires regularly.

Would l recommend this car?. Yes. Would l buy this car again?. Yes, but like one of ur previous responses, l would probably upgrade to at least a WRX (though l would love to get ST l - but it would not be practical for me.) If u look at Consumer Reports, Impreza is (particularly non-turbo) r very reliable & thats looking back over the years plus their front crash test ratings r usually second to none.
