l am not sure about the 07 impreza, but on the older imprezas you could remove a fuse from the fuse box and it would disable the rear drive. So it would only be front wheel drive, try looking in your owners manual.

You can, however it is not recommended. What you are asking requires modification to the drive train. You will also cause some instability when cornering. Not sure why you would want to disable the AWD on these cars anyway. Part of what makes them handle so well is the fact that they have AWD.

There is a cutout (pawl) used for automatic transmission, which disables the RWD (Subaru becames FWD) but it is used ONLY for pulling AWD cars with front part heaved on a trailer.. (sorry, l am not English :))

ur question is very limited. with it being a yes/no question the answer is ''yes''

would u like to know some more? r u looking for a fwd or rwd? or r u looking for a back forth switch.

only the STi has an electronic center diff. so the on off switch is out of the question, do u have a auto tranny or a 5-speed?

if u want fwd remove ur center diff, weld it in place so that it is closed also known as full time lock, then reinstall the diff, after that u can remove all the RWD components such as the drive shaft, & rear diff.

you make it RWD do the same thing with the center diff , then remove the front differential parts,

but be warned, the 2.5 front & rear differentials can not handle the power that the engine puts out if it receives all the power by it is self. so u may need to swap out for STi internals.

Yes you would need to purchase a special center diff unit. These can be purchased by Cusco or PPG. They are called a RWD Conversion kit.

Look under the hood for a fuse holder that has FWD on it.
Put a fuse in it and you will have FWD.
Having driven a 99 Legacy in FWD only and AWD, l can say that it handles better on dry pavement and gets 3 more MPG.
If you ask the shop where you have it serviced maybe they can tell you where yours is. But there was a way, so l imagine there still is.
