its not steering right. If l drain the fluid and put the correct fluid in it will it steer right again?

first of al you just voided your warrenty on your car. second of all you need to get the right stuff in the car as soon as possible.

If it is not steering right, there may be an alignment problem. Have you hit a curb or a pot hole? That will knock out the alignment. Take it to a tire store and have them realign the front wheels. It will cost you about $50 but you will not have to buy new tires because they are worn wrong.

Maybe? if the fluid you put in has not damaged the seals. drain it ASAP and replace - and recommend flushing a couple times to get all the ''bad'' fluid out. the other thing is l do not think you can just ''drain'' it. you will have to take a line loose and pump it out to purge the steering gear itself. you may want to trust this to a good steering mechaanic to fix right.

Do not start ur car & try to turn the wheel, by doing so u will be cycling / mixing the power steering fluid all throughout the power steering system.
It is very important that u remove all the old fluid that has mixed with the power steering fluid. When u drain out the old try to bleed any line if possible.

l would recommend that u flush & fill the Reservoir several times to ensure that u have removed all the power steering fluid.

You can even use automatic transmission fluid if you have it. It may have a steering problem. My 86xt had a leaking pump from day one. l just drove it like an 86 honda. Manual steering.
