Now dont get me wrong everyone, l do like subies to but after all the mods ive dont to my car it still really isnt that great (i used to race motorcycles and at first l wanted to move to rally racing but l havent found a rally circut to enter) . the only reason it seems ''fast'' is because its AWD and is quick off the line. My goal is to just TRY to make it keep up with my bike. lol l know a chevy SM is hevy as **** but l figured that would be a good combo putting more weight into a light car.If any one can tell me like a good POWERFULL engine that would be good in the WRX please tell me than. Money really isnt an issue right now.
also thx everyone who posted their thoughts on my original post about the engine swap.im still looking into it and number wise it actully is looking pretty good. the weight factor really wont be that much of a problem is just the placement of the engine and tranny thats causing the problems

Power is nothing without control.

Try looking for power to weight ratio. That is why ur Motorcycle kick butt. Is not an easy task & to match that engine with what is in the car it will be hard to do. l do not think the WRX tranny can hold the torque.

Perhaps a RX 8 engine. A rotary has a really good power to weight ratio, also will help to balance the car, is compact & light as hell. Climbs RPMs like a turbine powerplant.

Shed some weight from the car to make it lighter. Place the weight were it does the best. On a rear wheel drive place the weight like 48/52 split. That will give u a weight shift of 2% from front to rear of car & is close to an even number during deceleration that increase ur handling in corners. Perhaps is more money but a Flat 6 Porsche is a good engine with excellent power to weight ratio.

Build the existing engine! l hear that the factory sponsored rally cars have 600 to 700 hp.

Awesome 510 pounds of torque:

2416 pounds of car and 520hp:

Good to know it does not fit quite right, that will save me some time later when l am rich & bored. Seriously though, u can get a complete sti engine, 6speed & ecu/wiring already seperated for 10 grand on ebay. If that wont touch the bike find a crawford performance 2.8 stroker block & a ball bearing turbo the size of ur head. You know it will fit & it is all subaru.

This is what sweety wants: the veyron uses a 16 cyl version.

Its used in several luxury cars, all of which r extremly hard to source.
* Audi A8
* Bentley Continental GT
* Bentley Continental Flying Spur
* Spyker C12 LaTurbie
* Spyker D12 Peking-to-Paris
* Volkswagen Phaeton
* Volkswagen Touareg W12

A 350 engine, although more powerful will not make car faster to keep up with a crotch rocket. It will tear the Subaru apart starting with tranny. Bad idea. Buy a new car.

l think l see what u r trying to do now,
all the people that r worried about the transmission breaking, the PPG with straight cut gears should hold,

when u say POWERFULL, l am guessing u mean 1000 HP or more, not like 550HP or something that u could get out of an ST l motor.

there is a W12 (6 liter?) that is really small, it is designed to fit into the space of an inline 4
the cylinders r in groups of 3 in 2 rows on each side of the V, so it is called a W V 12

it is designed to get 1000 HP if turbo charged as intended, & is very daily drivable that way.

and it would also fit in the car.

l really have no idea where to get the engine, but it is worth looking into.

remember that the WRX really does not need much weight because it is all wheel drive, but if u have the power, who cares, unless u want perfect cornering.

it looks like u r going for drag racing, because on a winding road with less than perfect pavement, l pass many motorcycles with an almost stock WRX,
in a straight line, the 350 with a blower may not be a bad idea, but
l still want to see 12 cylinder WRX, l bet it would be much faster than anything.
sorry l can not seem to find a web link for that motor, l will update my answer if l can find it later tonight.

If AWD makes ur car feel fast then u desperately need some practice launching.
AWD slows down the car significantly by adding weight & robbing power through the drive train. Its the least efficient option out there.

The only way it can make it faster is if youre driving on wet or iced roads, or more likely u just dont know how to launch an FWD or RWD & u just floor the pedal from the start.

Practice launching & driving, then upgrade ur car accordingly.
