Im in the market of buyin a car and wanna buy a good performance car. l have always ownd a subaru and wanna get another one because of the proven performance and saftey, not to mention the AWD. But what other cars come to mind when looking for a car under 26K? And is subaru a good choice?

The WRX is a great choice, but l would test drive that Mazdaspeed3, and maybe that new nissan altima coupe. It does not hurt to take them for a spin. l know that when l bought my Legacy if l had not driven it right before the the Pontiac G6 l think it would have been hard to compare them. In the end test drive a few cars before you buy!

Get a used STi or EVO. You can find one that is stock with low miles for under 26k.
If you are set on a new car l think the '08 WRX is a solid choice. Ca not go wrong with an AWD, turbo hatchback. The only problem l can with getting a WRX is that you might end up wishing you got a STi instead
