Subaru Outback. It has 6 K miles and we treat it gently. There are like a dozen explantions in the owner is manual. Any help out there?
This is not the check engine light and it is not the gas cap, but l do wanna know why it is on. These things are there for a reason.

l can not tell you about your particular vehicle, but l CAN tell you that l had a Toyota truck that had the 'check engine' light on for about 10 miles, and l freaked out and took it to the dealer, and they told me that it sometimes just goes on. l had that truck for over 100,000 of its miles, and that light was on almost the whole time, and nothing EVER went wrong with the truck.

l hope it is the same for you! Good luck!

l took my Matrix in when mine came on.. and all it was, was my gas cap was not on tight enough..

My mom is Durango.. same thing.. Drove fine, but the gas cap needed to be tightened.. it took a few miles driving after they were tightened for the light to shut off...

Hope that is all it is!

These things do malfunction at times, but you can check these possibilities, (1) check your brake fluid level, if its too low the light will appear (2) check your brake shoes and disc pads when these are worn down the fluid level in the bottle will decrees(3) check your PARKING BRAKE to see if it is engage. and also check the switch under the parking brake handle or the switch in the brake fluid bottle to see if they are Malfunctioning .

This is not a check engine light. The exclamation point light is the TPMS light. Tire Pressure monitoring system. Nothing to worry about, just check your tire pressure on all 4 tires. You may want to look at the tread of the tires for nails or anything and if that is the case get that plugged at a tire shop.

In case if you need a new tire, bring lots of money. l believe the new outbacks come with a p225/55r17 Bridgestone Potenza that goes for about $200 each.

That is not a caution light it is a brake warning light. Check your e brake, if the e brake is off then call the dealer since your car is covered under a new car warranty!

By the way if your e brake is off and the brake warning light is lit there is something wrong with the brakes and you should get it looked at!
