u mean catalytic coverter u can do it it wil improve perfomace but do add a free flow exhaust for good effect.

l usually take a piece of pipe and hammer and beat everything out of the way otherwise you probably need a really long drill bit.

Converters r so efficient now, u see very little improvement. Back in the '70s & 80s the converters were ''pellet bed'' style. They could overheat & plug up, choking the engine. The newer converters r a honeycomb or matrix type, & do not plug up the same way.

And if ur car is made after 1996, then it likely has an O2 sensor behind the cat converter. It will post a code if it sees strange readings behind the cat. There r high-flow conveters available if ur engine really needs the extra exhaust flow.
